Description

Chlordiazepoxide Tablets are indicated for short term treatment of anxiety, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and insomnia. They belong to drug class of benzodiazepine having elimination half life of 5 to 30 hours. These tablets get metabolized in liver and excreted from kidney after exerting their curative effects. They are known to work by acting on allosteric sites of benzodiazepine resulting in increase of binding of inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA to GABAa receptor. Active compound of Chlordiazepoxide Tablets has molecular formula C16H14ClN3O with molar mass of 299.75 g/mol. They are known to have long lasting activity with targeted mode of action.
